App Downloads
Any active Noisedeck membership downloads immediately. Noisedeck 2.x LTS unlocks the Noisedeck app 7 days in. Sync is a separate public preview and does not require a membership. Get Noisedeck!
The five member apps are "living versions", with the latest builds posted weekly. They function fully offline and include your personalized license file, so please do not redistribute them. Sync is public and MIT-licensed.
-
Noisedeck 2.0
Video synth for realtime shader art and live visuals.
- A toolbar "+" button now reveals every effect insert zone at once so you can find where to add a source in freeform mode.
- Automation sources can be assigned to a specific MIDI or audio input device, with per-device channel selection for audio.
- System audio input in the Windows desktop build now captures sound instead of returning silence, and switching to it recovers after a microphone failure.
- The camera picker now updates when a camera is added or removed while the media panel is open, keeping your current selection if it is still present.
- The Sync companion connection now works again in the browser; the documentation covers browser permission prompts, macOS Sync Camera approval, and known issues.
- The desktop app no longer shows sign-in or free-trial prompts that could not succeed, and paid features that fail to load now show an error asking you to reload.
Includes Noisemaker 1.0.133
- Animation renders now print a strobe-warning verdict based on the WCAG general flash threshold, so callers can flag potentially seizure-inducing output.
- MIDI and audio automation sources accept a name and id to bind to a specific input device instead of the aggregate stream.
- Automation values can now be nested: min, max, speed, sensitivity and similar fields accept other oscillators, midi() or audio() sources.
- The text overlay now positions correctly across tiles when rendering large-format output on the WebGPU backend.
- magic-mashup now requires at least four input directories that each contain the full frame count, and exits with a clear error otherwise.
- Nine effect help pages were corrected to match their actual parameter names, and previously undocumented parameters (including lighting and material controls on the 3D mesh renderer) were added.
-
Layers 1.0
Non-destructive image and video clip editor with over a hundred GPU effects.
Includes Noisemaker 1.0.133

-
Polymorphic 0.11
Live coding environment and high-level composition language for shader effects.
- Reading pages in the book now scroll as one column over the live canvas, so the program, parameter panel and prose no longer crowd each other.
- The parameter panel no longer clips its list mid-row, and long prose no longer hides its last paragraph on shorter windows.
- On phones and tablets the parameter panel is capped in height and leaves a band of canvas visible below it, so moving a control shows its effect.
- The reader rail now leads with the effect's name, so pages landed from search identify themselves before you scroll.
- Corrected parameter names in about fifteen chapters where the prose referenced controls the effects no longer have or never had.
- The book build now fails when prose mentions a parameter or effect that does not exist in the engine.

Visualize 0.1
Two-deck VJ player with audio-reactive shaders, MIDI, and auto-VJ.
- Added a new output target that sends Visualize's mixer output to the Noisedeck Sync companion, opened from a 'sync' button next to the mirrored output button.
- The Sync output dialog shows connection state, provider, format, and counters for sent, GPU-busy, network, and failed frames, and lets you set the output name.
- Sync output now cleans up its connection and sender when the page is hidden or closed, and cancels in-flight operations instead of leaving them running.

Sync Preview 0.2.66
Low-latency bridge from browser visuals to native video sources — Syphon on macOS, Spout and NDI on Windows, and a V4L2 camera on Linux.
Preview: Sync is experimental and not ready for general use. Expect rough edges, dropped frames, and protocol changes.
System requirements
- Mac: Apple Silicon (M1 or later), macOS 11 Big Sur or later. Each build is smoke-tested on macOS 15 (Sequoia).
- Sync preview: Apple Silicon (M1 or later) on macOS 13 Ventura or later, publishing through Syphon; 64-bit Windows 10 or later, publishing through Spout and NDI; or Ubuntu 24.04 x86_64, publishing through a V4L2 Sync Camera from an unprivileged systemd user service. The Windows build is unsigned — SmartScreen will warn on first launch. NDI needs the NDI Runtime installed separately; its licence does not allow us to bundle it.
- Windows: Windows 10 or later (64-bit). Built on Windows Server 2022. Builds are unsigned — SmartScreen will warn on first launch. Click More info → Run anyway.
- Linux: Any 64-bit distribution with FUSE installed (AppImage format). Each build is smoke-tested on Ubuntu 24.04 under xvfb.
Sync preview
- Mac: open the public
.dmg, drag Sync into Applications, and launch it. Sync lives in the menu bar and does not use a personalized license file. - Windows: run the public
.exeinstaller and launch Sync. It lives in the notification area and does not use a personalized license file. The installer is unsigned, so SmartScreen warns → More info → Run anyway. Every release publishes a SHA-256 next to the installer under/public-downloads/sync/<version>/if you would rather verify it than trust it. - Linux: install the public
.deb, runsudo syncctl camera setup --user "$USER"once, then enablenoisedeck-sync.servicewithsystemctl --user. Sync uses the kernel-owned/dev/videoNdirectly and does not create a device symlink. - Open Noisedeck's Sync dialog and approve the native pairing prompt. Downstream hosts can then select the named source — as a Syphon source on macOS, a Spout sender or NDI source on Windows, or Sync Camera on Linux.
Member apps: first launch
- Open the downloaded
.zip(Safari may already have unpacked it into a folder). Inside you'll find the installer for your platform and your personallicense.nf-licensefile. - Mac: double-click the app
.zipinside to unpack it, then drag the app into Applications before the first launch. An app launched from Downloads cannot update itself. - Windows: double-click the
.exeinstaller. SmartScreen warns → More info → Run anyway. - Linux:
chmod +xthe.AppImageand run it directly. No install step. - Drop the
license.nf-licensefile onto the welcome window the first time the app launches.
